How do I measure my screen door opening to find retaining clips? I have 2 aluminum screen doors, one of which is white. Both are half doors with screens and storm windows that can be changed out every season. The clips for both doors are missing. How do I measure the channels/opening to find what clips I need? I have bought clips from the hardware store but they are all too thick to fit into the grooves.

Most of the time when I replace retaining clips I try to use the window screen clips in the pictures uploaded above.

These are originally intended for high rise condo screens from the 1970's and 1980's but they are easy to bend into new shapes and drill for rivets and screws

They are aluminum and are easy to bend into a shape that will fit your storm door. You might need to drill some pilot holes in the storm door frame so you can use them to secure glass panels or screen panels.
